Flow

'While debilitating mental illness is certainly not conducive to creativity, exciting new research is starting to point to the conclusion that some mental mechanisms and dispositions that are associated with full-blown psychosis may also be present in varying degrees in everyone and may confer tremendous advantages to flow, creativity and what makes life meaningful.'

  1. Hi Flounce! Nice evening in London, the sky looks mauve almost, the light from the streetlights and dust in the atmosphere... it's beautiful - my mind's wandering! ..., anyway about your blog, have you ever come across those online personality tests? I did one and found it interesting for the light it threw on my everyday behaviour. I got a truly awesome score in "schizotypal", 90% or 95% !!! I can't remember which. (schizotypal=loner, finds social situations very difficult, magical thinking,sees/hears things etc... yup...all that's me...)I agree with your quote. I think it's good to not to suppress it but instead use the power of being a certain way whatever it might be.

Rusty James (Matt Dillon), says about his brother, The Motorcyle Boy (played by Mickey Rourke) :
    "He's mad."

    Dad (Dennis Hopper) replies:
"Ya brother ain't mad... he's just got...ahhh...heightened perception."

    - from Rumblefish (film)

That's my take on it too. :-)

    'night xx
